That’s it I QUIT!

By

So, I feel as though this blog post has been coming for some time but it has never felt like the right time to do it, is there ever a right time to quit?

After years of struggle and jumping from one thing to another I just can’t take anymore and have to give up.

It’s not an easy thing to do for me as I have been doing it for so long, but now since I have made the decision I finally feel like I am free at last and can shout to the world.

I QUIT….

My DAY JOB That is :-)

I have been manager of the same store for just under 9 years as well as doing bar work for a lot of that time but on Monday the area manager said he was paying a visit so I thought that was an idea time to hand in my notice earlier than I intended, I was going to hand it in on the first of March to make sure the store was covered but though why not just do it now.

So the 25th Feb will be my last day working for others and I am going it alone. I have to say it wasn’t a bad job really, if it was I would have moved on long ago but I was left to run things on my own and only had a visit from the big bosses every few months but of course this is what I have been working towards all along.

Haven’t we all?

So I guess now the hard work really begins but at least I will have the time to put more into it now, (if my wife doesn’t give me too much to do around the house) I think I am going to busier than I have ever been and can’t wait to get started with things.

I have a lot of planning to do before I get started with a lot of the things in the pipeline but I have no doubt the all will be good.

Not sure why I started this so late as it’s almost 1am here and I still need to get up for work, these last few weeks are going to be the hardest ever to do me thinks and I will be counting down each and every second.

I hope I can get back into blogging a bit more for you when I have the time as it has been so hard with very  limited time to get everything done to be able to get where I am but it just goes to show that if I can do it anyone can do it.

From working full time with two jobs most of the time and not forgetting being a father of 3 children which takes up the rest of my time (in a good way) to having all the time and freedom I need.

I hope you get there soon too.

For now a very good night

James

You got me at first but after reading, big congrAtulations! Oh, by the way, what is ass bar work? Lol seriously, once you get momentum and begin generating income, you will be so glad you quit!

I have plenty on the go right now and a couple of new projects under way, so will need support, if you fancy it?

So good luck! Lets chat :) .

Hey Sean,

Posting at 6.50am, you wet the bed again?

You know I will always be here to help you out if I can, one day you might give me actual paid work too :-)

As for the ass bar work well that’s for a different blog entirely lol.

Must catch up soon

Hey James

Blogging at 1am…. reminds me of the good old days lol.

C.O.N.G.R.A.T.U.L.A.T.I.O.N.S !!!

It’s great when you quit your job and have more time to focus on your marketing – although with 3 kids that’s a job in itself too!

I am sure you will do great things online now you have more time and I look forward to seeing your future blog posts giving us some updates on your progress.

Best of luck, you can do it and you got lots of friends who will help ya (me included) if you need it.

Sally :) x

Thanks Sally,

Not often blogging at all let alone at 1am these days but I remember when I was up all hours blogging and commenting and hope to start getting more active but at a sensible time of day soon.

I can actually see me having a lot less time online and more time with the kids to start off with but in a great way of course.

I am counting down the days and can’t wait now, itching to leave now that I have made my mind up.

I should have done it a long time ago really as it was being in a comfortable position that has stopped me from pushing myself forward as even if I didn’t work hard online then the money would still come in at the end of the month, now it’s down to me and my drive.

Hey James,

A massive congratulations to you!

I’m looking forward to writing a similar blog post – my aim is that you’ll be seeing it by the end of 2012 (gives me a few months to get my stuff in proper order).

So what will be your main focus areas online once you leave your job?

I look forward to reading more about your progress, so please do a blog update occasionally to share your journey!

The thought of being able to choose how to spend your time must be an incredible feeling (as we were discussing on Facebook), and you totally deserve massive success.

Speak soon,

Nikki

Thanks Nikki,

I hope to see your own post very soon.

I have a few niche sites that are doing well enough for different things but I hope to put something else together that is not along those lines. If it works then great if not I will find out why and revamp or focus on something else, sorry that doesn’t tell you much about it but I have a couple of things that I want to do and need to decide which one I am going to focus on first.

I will try my best to update honest I will, I have found it really hard to write of late as I have had my head down and lost track of what is going on in the marketing world.

That’s what got me to write the post really, and it is the fact that I will be able to choose how to spend my time (If I am allowed of course) :-)

Talk soon no doubt

Well hello James and at first I feared the worst but congrats on you for making your breakthrough, I am determined to make mine this year.

You certainly had plenty to contend with but even with 2 jobs and 3 children you made it through.

Look forward to hearing more from and about you in the very near future

here’s to your continuing success

Hey igor,

Thanks, I thought I would get a few people with that title :-)

I’m sure you will do the same very soon, I feel the only reason it has not been sooner was because, either didn’t want it enough or just fearful of what could happen (fear of failure)but working on a steady plan and not putting all my eggs in one basket this time has made a huge difference.

Talk soon,

James

Hi James,

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How awesome! I just replied to your comment on my blog and ended up coming over here first to read because of good ol comment luv and your title, now I am back to leave a comment!

I completely agree with you on having a strong steady plan and not putting your eggs all in one basket. I honestly believe that is the key to long term success online.

I only just worked out the real power of having a plan a couple of months ago when I was forced to take some time off. I used that time to really map out this whole business online concept. And since then I have been so much more productive and more focused with what limited time I do have online!

You will be so much more happier soon and the bonus is you get to spend more time with the kids!!

I wish you the best of success.

See you back here soon!

Cheers

Thanks Jacinta,

It took me far too long really and made things harder for myself than it should of been but keeping it simple did the trick and working on one thing at a time for a change.

My aim from the beginning was to spend time with the kids so goal achieved on that front now time to set more goals to beat.

Great to see you have things planned out too. :-)

Cheers,

James
