I’m Eating My Ugly Frog
Have You Tasted Yours Yet?
By
So I have taken a bite of the ugly frog and you know what, it doesn’t taste that bad.
Before you think I have gone mad I suppose I should explain that.
Last night I re-read Gurus Dream, this is a free ebook from my mentor Alex Jeffreys if
you have not read it yet I suggest you do, in it Alex talks about an old saying that
his mentor would say to him that is.
“If you have to eat a box of frogs, what do you do?”
The answers is – “Eat the ugly frog first”.
Now to me I am looking at the box of frogs as my list of things I need to do and the
ugliest frog is creating my own report.
The reason for taking the ugly one out first is that after that the rest will go down easy.
I took a bite out of the ugly frog late last night right after going over the Gurus Dream
Report and already with the weight of getting started of it lifted I see the path ahead.
I have already got the idea for two new reports from just writing the first page.
Amazing what you can do if you get rid of all the excuses and get going, after all what
is stopping you from doing the same?
What reason excuse do you keep giving yourself to not get started on that one
thing that might be holding you back?
As in my case just get started, if it’s a new report it can always be edited, if it’s doing
a video you can always delete and record again.
The only thing stopping YOU is YOU.
Find your goal
Find your focus
Find your frog (then eat it)
What is YOUR frog?

Hey James,
Now that heading threw me:), thought you had gone mad! lol
Getting focused and staying focused is the key, work the plan to achieve the goal.
If you have a strong enough reason why, you’ll do it. Like my first video……..that was my fear, but overcame it when I just did it!
That used to be my challenge James, but like you I have understood the importance of Just Doing It, but with a plan written down and a deadline to get it done.
Thanks for sharing James.

Hey Sean,
Couldn’t have said it better myself man.
Maybe you can write my next post as we seem to be on the same page which is where everyone should be.
Create a plan and work that plan.
Talk soon,
James

Hi James,
Staying focused and determined is where I can let myself down. sometimes life can get in the way and side track me a beauty, however in saying that I have learned that writing myself a list of tasks to do is one way of eating the ugly frogs so to speak!
Hope all is great

Hey Jacinta,
I know what it can be like.
I have three kids to watch over at times and very rarely get anything done before they go to bed.
I think in a way the fact I only have a few hours at a time makes me more productive than if I have all day but without my list of things to do I would get nothing done at all.

James,
What an awesome post title…certainly got my interest!!
Avoiding distractions was one of the biggest problems I faced. It’s all well having a plan but if you don’t create the environment to follow through and accomplish what you set out to do you’ll struggle!!
You need to set yourself up on solid foundations by doing the necessary preparation work first – it may seem like a pain but it’ll pay you back 100 times over in the long run!!

Hey Rob,
Very true, distractions are a very big problem (sneakily turns his Skype off) if you need to get things done then best to give it your full attention.
Otherwise it will not only take you twice as long as you wanted but might not turn out as expected either.

James
