Amazon AWS s3
ByOk so the other day I signed up for Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3).
SIMPLE, Now I’m no fool even if I sometime act like one and I may not know everything, I still make a few mistakes now and then (I am only human or so I’m told) but simple is not a word I would use when trying to set it up.
Now this is taken from the site

So first off what the does rest and soap have to do with me uploading video to be stored, so I search through forums and find a lot of code I don’t understand then back to try and find the correct help section. I think that alone took 30 minutes.
I wanted to take some more info off it for the names of the things that I needed to download but I have just spent another 15 mins looking for it and can’t find it again. It’s so easy it is to use I can’t even find the right help section.
Anyway after getting to a point of pulling my hair out and crying at my computer that all I want to do is upload some videos to store I finally found the answer (after updating my .net and downloading and installing AWSSDKForNET_1.0.3 whatever that is)
The answer after all that was found in a great free Firefox addon called Amazon S3 Firefox Organiser(S3Fox) this probably saved me a day or two and best of all it’s free. Amazing is all I can say and thank you. Two mins and I was set up ready to go.
While I’m on the subject of uploading video and Amazon S3, I can’t wait for a new product that is coming out on the 12th of this month it’s called Easy Video Player, This is going to make video easy for everyone to use (even me). I would do it a lot more but find it hard to work out the recording and editing then uploading.This is going to solve all that for me.

Hi James,
As you know I have also just signed up for Amazon S3 too, and I know exactly how difficult it is to set up, lucky I had you to guide me through and save me a ton of time.

I am just in the process of putting a video series together, so as discussed will definitely be looking at easy video player!
I believe the power of this is just amazing, and although I haven’t had the privilege to play with the “live” version, I believe this will change everything

Hi James,
I was only looking at Amazon S3 the other day. I took one look at the site, noticed the cheap prices for storage and download. I like the fact that it is a pay as you use system, however the page looked all too confusing for me at this stage.
I like the sound of the “Easy Video Player System” I just hope it isn’t too expensive to consider. I will check it out.
One of my goals this year was to only buy what I absolutely need right now and not what I think I am going to use. I don’t want to add up how much money I spent last year!
I look forward to watching your videos when you produce them.

P.S There is a site called “Adrive” (www.adrive.com)(Not an affiliate link). They have a free 50 gigabyte storage account on there to be able to share files. Only problem is they are really slow at uploading. Not a problem for downloading.

I know what you mean about confusing, I joined without checking it out and it just stumped me.
The addon basically make it as easy as uploading something to your website, if you can do that you can now use Amazon S3.
I don’t intend to buy (too much) what I don’t need but I am seeing that I will get a lot of use out of Easy Video Player and just what it can do is amazing. I have to have this, I doubt I will be buying much that I won’t use.
Will check out Adrive sounds good.
