Overcome Writers Block
ByGot writers block?
If you suffer from writers block and you are trying to keep a blog up and running then you have got problems.
I just came across a post by Ann Marie Dennis Titled “How Do I Overcome Writer’s Block?”
Although it was only a short post it is well worth a read. I especially liked the comment from Rob Canyon, it is worth a view for his comment alone.
To go off topic for a minute You should go visit Robs blog as at the moment if you are quick he is letting you in on how he made $3758 in 21 days online with his double click strategy FREE. This is very limited so visit his blog and watch his video.
Ok back on topic. When I had a bit of a block the other week I posted on Twitter that if I had to force a post then it would be no good.
I got a reply from http://Twitter.com/thereseskelly that was
“thereseskelly@JamesHoward1 Hey James, get away from your computer! Sing, dance, go for a run…get out of your head and in your body and creativity flow”
My reply to this was
“@thereseskelly think the sining and dancing would make a great video for blog instead of a plain old post. They might never come back though”(although I just noticed I misspelt singing)
The reply after that was what cleared my head gave me a chuckle now I didn’t see this until 17 hours later I was still staring at a blank screen wondering what my next topic would be.
thereseskelly@JamesHoward1 Hey James, I think it could certainly be memorable! I DARE ya!!!
This reply took my mind off writing and bingo I was cured and was able to write my last post about Twitter. So if you ever get a bit stuck the best thing to do is take your mind off it for a while, so if you get stuck, find something that will take your mind off it for a while. Check out YouTube for some funny clips or something else that will give you a laugh. They do say laughter is the best medicine after all.

Interesting little post. As an individual trying to create informative articles, write ebooks, and working on my first book, I appreciate that angle. We do indeed need to take some time off ‘to smell the roses’.
It really clears the head and sets the environment for greater creativity. Keep up the good work.
As for Rob Canyon… he really is an awesome guy.

Hey Kelwyn,
Thanks for the visit, it’s one of those things, the harder you try the less your going to get done.
You need to take your mind off things, check out other peoples blogs leave comments. The more you search the more chance of finding a topic to write about or an idea popping into your head.
I like the quote on your blog by the way “Those who forget the past, are condemned to repeat it.”
Keep in touch,
James

Great post outlining a key fact which is too often overlooked. Its all so important to step away from things and take time out which can recharge your batteries and refresh those creative juices. After all none of us started online wanting to dedicate all our time to the business or related tasks, so we mustn’t lose sight of the fact that variety is the key.
I’ve found that keeping an ideas book helps as I can jot down musings and thoughts as they crop up without needing to get distracted too much from what I was up to at the time. It provides a good source of info for when I get the dreaded block!
All the best

Hey Tom,
I like the fact you say business and that’s the thing, most businesses do not open 24/7 and if they do it’s not done by one person. Your mind is the greatest thing you possess and it needs rest to function properly.
You should always have a pen and notepad handy, you never know when an idea is going to come to mind.
Then again saying that I need to buy a new one.

James-
It’s a hassle sometimes, though I find that talking it out is often easier with a bullet point list, and transcription is instant on most computers these days with a $30 headset, so I’m doing more and more audio, then posting as text.
Thanks for sharing your insights

Hey Nicholas,
What do you use to convert your speach to text?
I hear Dragon Naturally Speaking is one of the best but it takes up about 2gb I need a new machine before I got that.lol
Either that or I could have a good clear out.
Thanks for the visit,
James
