Alexa Rank Challenge

By James Howard

So what’s your Alexa rank?

On the 19th Sep I was over at Paul Lear’s blog a member of Alex Jeffreys coaching program and reading aboutAlexa rank.

My Alexa rank  at the time was  936,894 according to the Alexa toolbar it is now 735,221 but as you can see from the image below the Alexa site itself shows it as 665,482, I don’t know if it just takes a little time for the toolbar to update but that is all I can think.

Alexa_Rank

Now I have been set a sort of challenge by Paul to catch him up.

Pauls rank at the moment is 613,701 so I’m doing well but as I said he is a member of the Alex Jeffreys coaching program and quite a few of the members have now got the Alex tool bar installed so he does kind of have a helping hand as the members visit each others blogs

I am not at a computer for a week as of tomorrow so we will have to see what happens and see if my rank still stays good.

Why don’t you see what your rank is and set yourself a challenge, find someone who is ahead of you and see if you can catch up get the toolbar installed or for Fire Fox there is an Alex Rank checker plugin that does the same rank.

To improve my rank and get extra visiters at the moment I am doing more blog commenting at the moment but not much else.

Let me know what your rank is and what you are doing to improve it.

By the way Paul, sorry for clogging up your comments mate.

Hi James,

Glad to see you took up Paul’s Challenge. I have too and so far my Alexa is down to 381,485. I want to comment more on blogs, write more content and work on building up my backlinks to improve it even more.

And that’s amazing, I thought for sure you were on one of the coaching programs right now. I think there’s at least three of them going on, or that have passed recently. Alex Jeffreys, Dean Holland’s and John Thornhill’s.

But keep pressing on, you’re doing great work over here,
Karen

Hi Karen,

Thanks for the visit, 381,485 that’s great there might be another challenge in that but have to see if I can catch Paul up first, one step at a time.

I need to start updating more than I do to keep this fresh but I have been working on a niche project a lot at the moment so all the articles I have been doing have been for that,I don’t think I have any articles with backlinks to here yet.

Your visit has just reminded me to bookmark the post(great sites in your post)

No,not on any course although more and more people are thinking I was, (should have kept quiet maybe) needed new transport at the time they came out. I should have just bought a pedal bike and got on Alex or Dean’s course I wasn’t aware of John Thornhill’s course.

Thanks again,

James

Hey James,

Thanks for the link and mention mate, I appreciate it. ;)

Your rank is really starting to fall now, I can see you catching me very soon, even if you don’t have access to a computer this week.

No worries about clogging up my comments, I appreciated you coming back with the extra responses. :)

John Thornhill’s coaching started way back in February, I remember because was thinking about joining it. It was a bit out of my price range though, especially with Christmas only just over with. I think it was a 36 week course! And it’s just about coming to an end in the next few weeks I think.

I’m happy that I didn’t have the money now anyway, as much as I wanted to get on John’s coaching, I would of hated to have not been able to afford Alex’s coaching. So probably a blessing in disguise, as I didn’t even know who Alex was back then.

Remember to check out my Alexa tips when you come back from your break. In the mean time I hope you have a nice time and come back refreshed and ready for work on your online business.

Also remember to take a notebook with you, I’ve heard amazing things happen while on holiday… You may suddenly start to have lots of potentially life changing ideas, make sure you write them all down.

Take care,

Paul.

Hey Paul,

No problem on the link, you have made me work harder after all :-)

The trouble is though, everywhere I go YOU ARE THERE…:-)

You have either been to a blog before me or, when I go back to see if my comment has been replied to I see your mug in the comments :-)

I remember you saying about the notebook before, still didn’t buy a new one yet but I have a lot of paper so as long as I remember a pen (or the kids crayons if need be) I should be ok.

I wanted to get on Alex’s course as I have followed him for quite a while but I had a motorbike smash and it was a compleate wreck and had to buy a new one (bad timing to hit a sign post, damn those car drivers that don’t look when pulling out) as it’s my only form of transport.

Don’t forget to visit while i’m gone :-)

Hey James,

I don’t think I’ve been here before. I’ve just been blog hopping and found your name in the Top Commentators list and clicked it and here I am.

I’m Jeff Sargent and I was in Alex Jeffreys first coaching program. I see you’re taking the Alexa challenge also. I set a goal to catch Marcus Passey 5 days ago and I and since then have lowered it 2245 points to 454,478. It’s not much but the lower you get the harder it gets.

Actually I’m shooting for 250,000 initially and eventually 99,999.

Good Luck in your challenge to catch Paul.

Hi James,

I have found you through Paul Lear’s Blog. I am actually one of John Thornhill’s students. I have been doing the course all year. It has been awesome. He has taught more on product creating, creating sales websites, blogging and now we are learning about the social networking side of things. However I must say since finding some of Alex’s students accidentally I have been learning heaps from them also.

I have taken on the challenge as well re the Alexa Ranking. I am behind both you and Paul but considering my ranking was @19,862,460 3 months ago and now it is @724,216 I am proud of myself.

Keep up the good stuff.

Kind Regards

Jacinta :)

That’s a great drop in numbers, you are doing something right:-)

I not here for a week so you have loads of time to catch up, my numbers keep dropping every couple of days so you might just overtake me.

Will be back over to your blog next week.

Thanks for the visit,

Hey Jeff,

Your comment was in my spam for some reason,

Marcus is doing really well, I started Tweeting with him just before he won his place on the course, he’s going very well now.

Getting into the top 100,000 would be excellent could be my next target.

First Paul and then maybe Karen though:-) one target at a time.

And all the best with your goal too.

Thanks for taking the time to visit,

James

Hey James,

I’m still loving the idea of the Alexa challenge… it’s going to pay off so much for us in the end.

Currently my blog is ranked 508,633 in Alexa. That’s down from 649,598 just 3 days ago!

Just like you’ve said, all that I’ve done is comment on other people’s blogs, write a couple blog posts and post on the WarriorForum (which I recommend if you haven’t been there yet).

I’ll keep checking in to see how you’re doing with the ranking.

Keep dropping that number like a rock!!
